God's Favour School in Kabale Uganda

As a young child, Saturday Collins (along with his mother and three siblings), was abandoned by his father. Although this act embittered his mother toward God, Saturday secretly believed God was up to something good. A few years later, he miraculously encountered a missionary couple who recognized his hunger for the Lord. Since education is not free in Uganda, this couple chose to sponsor Saturday in order that he

might attend school. Consequently, the young student began to grow in favor with God and man even while he began working to provide

financially for his family.

As he grew in stature as a man, the desire of Saturday's heart also grew into a longing to become a minister for the Lord. Upon graduation, he

was accepted into the Ugandan Seminary, progressed in his studies, graduated, and began teaching and preaching. Shortly thereafter,

Saturday met and married his beautiful wife, Grace, and they began raising a family of their own.

One day, while on an outreach to the very area he grew up in, Saturday heard crying coming from a slum home. His heart drew him further into

the decaying village where he discovered four very young children without mother, father, food, or water. They were alone and starving.

Saturday did not know what to do. For days afterwards, the cries of these children rang out so loudly in his mind that he could barely hear his own thoughts.

Reminded so powerfully of how he himself had grown up, Saturday desperately cried out to God, "What should I do?"

"Collins,” the Lord replied, “I made you a teacher and I want you to start a school."

Saturday obediently went back to the slums and found a piece of land in a community that had become known as an epicenter for witchcraft,

drugs, prostitution, and child abduction. He purchased the land and called it GOD'S FAVOUR. With the support of friends, he built a temporary

school structure and opened a Free School for the local children. As education is not a free service in Kabale, many of these impoverished children had previously been denied even the opportunity to learn. As a ministry, God's Favour is the first school in the slums of Kabale and has chosen to provide education to these children free of charge.

Through God's supernatural provision, the trafficking and drugs that had so scarred the community soon fled the area and the new ministry began to grow. Even with limited resources, Saturday (known by his students as 'Mr. Collins') continues to open his doors to the children of Kabale. Today, God's Favour School and Ministry is a light in Kabale and serves over 700 children on a daily basis.

The heart for Mission Yeshua was birthed during a visit to Kabale where some of our team members were able to get a clearer understanding of the ministry's goals and purpose, as well as the heart of those serving there as leaders. These team members were also able to spend time

with the children and experience the dramatic impact God's Favour is having in the community.

Following this initial connection, these team members began sharing with friends and family about how God was moving through God's

Favour. We are humbled and grateful to join other champions who have come alongside this ministry. It has taken a village HERE to help a village THERE. Together, we have already been able to assist in purchasing temporary living quarters and buildings for some of the orphans of God's Favour, as well as hundreds of meals for families in the community, and much more. Additionally, this collective giving has mobilized the Gospel in Kabale with unprecedented numbers of miracles and salvations.

In this context of our growing relationship with God's Favour, the leadership of Mission Yeshua has begun to appreciate the larger and

longer-term needs in Kabale and among the children who call it home. We believe God is inviting us to facilitate a way for the Body of Christ

HERE to support the ministry THERE. A God-inspired desire to assist in these efforts is one of the reasons Mission Yeshua was created.

Currently, there are over 700 children being served by God's Favour School and Ministry. 165 of these children are orphans, while many of the

other 535 come from single-parent homes. All of them face insecurity and danger on a regular basis in their poverty-stricken community. Would you please consider joining us by advancing their amazing story as a champion for the most vulnerable in Kabale?
